And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were* with him,
And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
¶ And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
\+w A sower|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w went out|strong="G1831"\+w* \+w to sow|strong="G4687"\+w* \+w his|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w seed|strong="G4703"\+w*: \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w as|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w he|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w sowed|strong="G4687"\+w*, \+w some|strong="G3303"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w by|strong="G3844"\+w* \+w the way side|strong="G3598"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w it was trodden down|strong="G2662"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the fowls|strong="G4071"\+w* \+w of the air|strong="G3772"\+w* \+w devoured|strong="G2719"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*.*
\+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w some|strong="G2087"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w upon|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w a rock|strong="G4073"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w as soon as it was sprung up|strong="G5453"\+w*, \+w it withered away|strong="G3583"\+w*, \+w because|strong="G1223"\+w* \+w it|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w lacked|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w moisture|strong="G2429"\+w*.*
\+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w some|strong="G2087"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w among|strong="G3319"\+w* \+w thorns|strong="G0173"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w the thorns|strong="G0173"\+w* \+w sprang up with it|strong="G4855"\+w*, \+w and choked|strong="G0638"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*.*
\+w And|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w other|strong="G2087"\+w* \+w fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w good|strong="G0018"\+w* \+w ground|strong="G1093"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w sprang up|strong="G5453"\+w*, \+w and bare|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w fruit|strong="G2590"\+w* \+w an hundredfold|strong="G1542"\+w*.* And when he had said these things, he cried, \+w He that hath|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w ears|strong="G3775"\+w* \+w to hear|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w let him hear|strong="G0191"\+w*.*
And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
And he said, \+w Unto you|strong="G5213"\+w* \+w it is given|strong="G1325"\+w* \+w to know|strong="G1097"\+w* \+w the mysteries|strong="G3466"\+w* \+w of the kingdom|strong="G0932"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*: \+w but|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w to others|strong="G3062"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w parables|strong="G3850"\+w*; \+w that|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w seeing|strong="G0991"\+w* \+w they might|strong="G0991"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w see|strong="G0991"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w hearing|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w they might|strong="G4920"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w understand|strong="G4920"\+w*.*
\+w Now|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w the parable|strong="G3850"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w this|strong="G3778"\+w*: \+w The seed|strong="G4703"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*.*
\+w Those|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w by|strong="G3844"\+w* \+w the way side|strong="G3598"\+w* \+w are they|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w hear|strong="G0191"\+w*; \+w then|strong="G1534"\+w* \+w cometh|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w the devil|strong="G1228"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w taketh away|strong="G0142"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w out of|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w their|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w hearts|strong="G2588"\+w*, \+w lest|strong="G3361"\+w* \+w they should believe|strong="G4100"\+w* \+w and be saved|strong="G4982"\+w*.*
\+w They|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w the rock|strong="G4073"\+w* \+add are they\+add*, \+w which|strong="G3739"\+w*, \+w when|strong="G3752"\+w* \+w they hear|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w receive|strong="G1209"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w with|strong="G3326"\+w* \+w joy|strong="G5479"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w these|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w have|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w no|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w root|strong="G4491"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w for|strong="G4314"\+w* \+w a while|strong="G2540"\+w* \+w believe|strong="G4100"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w time|strong="G2540"\+w* \+w of temptation|strong="G3986"\+w* \+w fall away|strong="G0868"\+w*.*
\+w And|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w which fell|strong="G4098"\+w* \+w among|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w thorns|strong="G0173"\+w* \+w are|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w they|strong="G3778"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3588"\+w*, \+w when they have heard|strong="G0191"\+w*, \+w go forth|strong="G4198"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w are choked|strong="G4846"\+w* \+w with|strong="G5259"\+w* \+w cares|strong="G3308"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w riches|strong="G4149"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w pleasures|strong="G2237"\+w* \+w of|strong="G0979"\+w* \+add this\+add* \+w life|strong="G0979"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w bring|strong="G5052"\+w* \+w no fruit|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w to perfection|strong="G5052"\+w*.*
\+w But|strong="G1161"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w on|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w the good|strong="G2570"\+w* \+w ground|strong="G1093"\+w* \+w are|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w they|strong="G3778"\+w*, \+w which|strong="G3748"\+w* \+w in|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w an honest|strong="G0018"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w good|strong="G2570"\+w* \+w heart|strong="G2588"\+w*, \+w having heard|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w*, \+w keep|strong="G2722"\+w* \+add it\+add*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w bring forth fruit|strong="G2592"\+w* \+w with|strong="G1722"\+w* \+w patience|strong="G5281"\+w*.*
¶ \+w No man|strong="G3762"\+w*, \+w when he hath lighted|strong="G0681"\+w* \+w a candle|strong="G3088"\+w*, \+w covereth|strong="G2572"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w with a vessel|strong="G4632"\+w*, \+w or|strong="G2228"\+w* \+w putteth|strong="G5087"\+w* \+add it\+add* \+w under|strong="G5270"\+w* \+w a bed|strong="G2825"\+w*; \+w but|strong="G0235"\+w* \+w setteth|strong="G2007"\+w* \+add it\+add* \+w on|strong="G1909"\+w* \+w a candlestick|strong="G3087"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G2443"\+w* \+w they which enter in|strong="G1531"\+w* \+w may see|strong="G0991"\+w* \+w the light|strong="G5457"\+w*.*
\+w For|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w nothing|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w secret|strong="G2927"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w be made|strong="G1096"\+w* \+w manifest|strong="G5318"\+w*; \+w neither|strong="G3761"\+w* \+add any thing\+add* \+w hid|strong="G0614"\+w*, \+w that|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w shall|strong="G1097"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3756"\+w* \+w be known|strong="G1097"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w come|strong="G2064"\+w* \+w abroad|strong="G5318"\+w*.*
\+w Take heed|strong="G0991"\+w* \+w therefore|strong="G3767"\+w* \+w how|strong="G4459"\+w* \+w ye hear|strong="G0191"\+w*: \+w for|strong="G1063"\+w* \+w whosoever|strong="G0302"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G2192"\+w*, \+w to him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w shall be given|strong="G1325"\+w*; \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w whosoever|strong="G0302"\+w* \+w hath|strong="G2192"\+w* \+w not|strong="G3361"\+w*, \+w from|strong="G0575"\+w* \+w him|strong="G0846"\+w* \+w shall be taken|strong="G0142"\+w* \+w even|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w that|strong="G3739"\+w* \+w which he seemeth|strong="G1380"\+w* \+w to have|strong="G2192"\+w*.*
¶ Then came to him his* mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
And it was told him by certain* which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
And he answered and said unto them, \+w My|strong="G3450"\+w* \+w mother|strong="G3384"\+w* \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w my|strong="G3450"\+w* \+w brethren|strong="G0080"\+w* \+w are|strong="G1526"\+w* \+w these|strong="G3778"\+w* \+w which|strong="G3588"\+w* \+w hear|strong="G0191"\+w* \+w the word|strong="G3056"\+w* \+w of God|strong="G2316"\+w*, \+w and|strong="G2532"\+w* \+w do|strong="G4160"\+w* \+w it|strong="G0846"\+w*.*
¶ Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, \+w Let us go over|strong="G1330"\+w* \+w unto|strong="G1519"\+w* \+w the other side|strong="G4008"\+w* \+w of the lake|strong="G3041"\+w*.* And they launched forth.
But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water*, and were in jeopardy.
And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
And he said unto them, \+w Where|strong="G4226"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w your|strong="G5216"\+w* \+w faith|strong="G4102"\+w*?* And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
¶ And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any* house, but in the tombs.
When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou* Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
And Jesus asked him, saying, \+w What|strong="G5101"\+w* \+w is|strong="G2076"\+w* \+w thy|strong="G4671"\+w* \+w name|strong="G3686"\+w*?* And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
