Editorial Principles
Our commitment to accuracy, neutrality, and independence.
Mission and Coverage Priorities
QuotesCosmos is dedicated to cataloging the world's most profound wisdom across historical, religious, and contemporary texts. Our coverage priority is to present primary source materials in their original languages with side-by-side verified translations, serving a global audience. We maintain strict impartiality and neutrality, honoring all traditions respectfully on their own terms without syncretism or cultural appropriation.
Ownership and Funding Info
As of 2026, QuotesCosmos has no outside funding and therefore no conflicts of interest. The platform has been entirely bootstrapped by its founder. We continuously strive to maintain absolute impartiality and neutrality in all things of interest to the global audience which we honorably serve.
Verification and Fact-Checking Policy
Our verification processes align with high academic and journalistic standards. For sacred and historical texts, we prioritize public domain scholarly editions (e.g., KJV, Pickthall Quran, Legge I Ching). For contemporary quotes, every entry is rigorously cross-referenced against authoritative news and media sources. If a quote cannot be verified through a primary or authoritative secondary source, it will not be marked as verified.
Unnamed Sources Policy
Transparency is paramount. Quotes must be attributed to a specific person or sacred text. When quotation sources are unavailable or lost to history, those quotes are explicitly marked as "unsourced" to inform users. We do not attribute quotes to anonymous contemporary sources.
Corrections Policy
We actively seek to correct any inaccuracies. If a quotation is found to be misattributed, mistranslated, or taken out of context, it is promptly reviewed by our editorial team and corrected or removed. Transparency regarding updates will be maintained in the respective text's metadata log.
