During the Last Supper when Jesus was betrayed by Judas before crucifixtion, he broke bread saying, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After eating Jesus also took a cup of wine saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. (1 Corinthians 11:23-34) This event has since become a central Christian ritual referred to as the Lord's Supper and communion among other other terms.
