“Where you go I will go”

RUTH 1:16

KING JAMES VERSION (KJV)

About this Quote

In this verse Naomi has told Ruth to return to her people in Moab as she is going back to Jerusalem. Ruth replies: “Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” (NIV).

Ruth's strong and faithful devotion to Naomi is still seen as model behavior today. Her willingness to abide by Jewish customs goes to the point where she later converts to Judaism. Ruth's example shows that faith and persistence break boundaries and let us to live new lives.
