MATTHEW 1

KING JAMES VERSION (KJV)

STRONG'S CONCORDANCE

After Mary has become pregnant, Joseph is considering parting ways with Mary to avoid public humiliation. Then an angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream telling Joseph: "fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." When Joseph awoke he accepted Mary as his wife and he and Mary would go on to raise Jesus as their son. See Matthew 1:18–25. Image
